About
About the OCLP Field Guide
oclp.dev is an independent guide to OpenCore Legacy Patcher. We explain what the software does on each Mac, from its own source code and our own test runs, and we never host or modify it.
Independent, and clear about it
We are not Dortania, not part of the OpenCore Legacy Patcher project, and not affiliated with Acidanthera or Apple. OpenCore Legacy Patcher is the work of Dortania and its contributors; every download link on this site goes to the official GitHub releases. For bugs in the software, use the project's Discord or GitHub, not us.
We chose a short domain and a distinct name, “OCLP Field Guide”, so that nobody mistakes this site for the project itself. We will never email anyone on behalf of the OCLP team, ask for payment, or offer modified builds.
How we work
- Source code
- Model data and root-patch results are generated from the OCLP source (3.0.0-rc.5) with a script that runs OCLP's own patch-set classes for every model and macOS version. Nothing is retyped by hand.
- Official documentation
- Fixes and caveats come from Dortania's guide and changelog, cited where we use them.
- Test runs
- We download the official packages, check their signatures and hashes, install the app and run its build for every supported model on GitHub's macOS machines. See Our tests for what we can and cannot test.
- Community reports
- Where we rely on forum reports (for example the MacRumors Tahoe thread), we say so.
- Dates and versions
- Each page shows the OCLP version it was checked against and when it was last updated.
Credits
OpenCore Legacy Patcher exists thanks to Dortania (Mykola Grymalyuk / khronokernel and DhinakG as main co-authors), the patch authors including EduCovas, ASentientBot and Jazzzny, Ausdauersportler, vit9696 and Acidanthera for OpenCore and its kexts, and many more listed in the project README. If OCLP saved your Mac, consider supporting them through the project's own channels.
